West Georgia 's USTA adult program is open to men and women 18 years and older, with skill levels ranging from beginner to advanced. West Georgia league winners will be considered “league champions” of West Georgia and can then advance on to compete in state, sectional and even national championships.
In West Georgia , USTA has two seasons for adults, Summer and Winter. Team play consists of 1 singles and 3 doubles positions. The only exceptions are the 2.0, 2.5 and 5.0 levels, which consists of 1 singles and 2 doubles positions. Weeknight Mens and Womens 2.5, 3.5, 4.5 play on Tuesday nights, Weeknight Mens and Womens 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 play on Thursday nights, and Weekday women (all levels) play on Wednesday mornings during the Summer and Winter.
The National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP) is used to determine playing levels. The West Georgia Tennis Association offers league play at the 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0 levels.
Players may self-rate unless they have a current computer rating. Registration fee for each league is $10.00 (plus the TennisLink User fee of $3.00). USTA membership is required. May be obtained at http://www.usta.com/membership or by calling 1-800-990-8782
